Russian And Brazilian Fans Invited To Participate In Closed Beta Testing That Begins October 8


Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that EA SPORTS™ FIFA World, a new free-to-play*, downloadable game for PC, is unveiling new features—including gamepad controller support—for the next phase of Closed Beta testing that begins October 8. EA SPORTS FIFA World is a fun new way to play EA SPORTS FIFA for fans in Brazil and Russia who are not console gamers. FIFA World will be available free* to fans in Brazil and Russia with a broadband internet connection and an average spec laptop computer or desktop personal computer. The game features the award-winning** EA SPORTS FIFA HD console gameplay, and is built around FIFA Ultimate Team—the most popular game mode within EA SPORTS FIFA—where fans create unique squads from the world’s best players to play their preferred style of soccer. FIFA World also features the popular Seasons Mode.

Since August, thousands of fans in Russia and Brazil have participated in the development and testing of FIFA World, helping to create the best free-to-play soccer experience. The most requested new feature, gamepad controller support, has been implemented for the next phase of testing. Other new features include a new social hub, where fans can share in-game content with friends, the addition of over 600 clubs from 33 leagues, including the officially licensed Russian Football Premier League and 20 officially licensed football clubs from Brazil, all wearing authentic kits with rosters that reflect the current football season, and daily community challenges with rewards, such as FIFA Ultimate Team packs. The new phase of Closed Beta will run weekdays in Brazil and Russia from 7:00-11:00 PM (local time) and all weekend long beginning Oct. 8. FIFA World is being created by the award-winning FIFA development team at EA Canada. The commercial launch of the game is scheduled for November 2013 in Russia and Brazil.
